Danske Bank First Year Analyst in Sustainable Finance
Sustainable Finance is looking for an ambitious First Year Analysts to join our team in Helsinki.
Sustainable Finance (SF) has the task to integrate sustainability considerations in the bank’s financing operations. We operate across different business units and countries but with a focus on large corporate clients. Our main bases are in Helsinki and Copenhagen but we collaborate on a daily basis with colleagues across the Nordics.
Some of the main tasks for SF include working on analysing the environmental impacts of the projects the bank finances through the lending operations. We also measure the carbon footprint of the bank’s lending and work on setting targets to reduce the climate impact. Moreover, we closely follow, innovate and take action on the latest developments of the fast-evolving sustainable finance market. In order to do this, we often need to combine knowledge from the areas of sustainability, finance and engineering. Sustainable Finance is a growth area for Danske Bank with significant senior management focus.
The current team consists of four employees in Helsinki and two in Copenhagen. Across the team, we have educational backgrounds from finance, economics, environmental sciences as well as environmental and industrial engineering. All highly competent people who have a strong interest in creating great customer experiences and strong analyses. We are a dynamic organisation with a strong focus on high performance and personal development. You will join a highly motivated team based in the centre of Helsinki.

The First-Year Analyst program
The First Year Analyst programme in Corporates & Institutions is an opportunity to accelerate your career within multiple career tracks being part of an ambitious organisation. As a First Year Analyst you will have the opportunity to get to the core of financial markets and learn about a broad range of financial instruments. You will get immediate contact with Danske Bank’s biggest clients and core business, and will be exposed to challenging tasks.
This position is an opportunity to accelerate your career as part of an ambitious organisation where you are expected to deliver from day 1. You will be on a steep learning curve that enables you to take on added responsibility after your first 18 months. To support your development, we offer personal and professional training activities, networking with other junior analysts as well as exposure to key decision makers. After the 18 months, we will continue to focus on your personal and professional development.
As a First-Year Analyst, you will have the opportunity to get to the very core of sustainable finance where you will be exposed to challenging tasks from the first day.

Who are you?
You have an analytical mind-set and an ability to present your analysis in a concise way. You are a team player but able to work independently with a strong sense of personal responsibility. We are looking for a “doer” with a strong drive and the ability to take initiative. You are fluent at least in English and in Swedish, Danish or Norwegian. Fluency in Finnish is a plus.
You have a strong academic background with a M.Sc. in an area that combines sustainability with either engineering or finance. This could be, for example, within environmental engineering or within finance or economics in combination with a minor in a relevant sustainability subject.
